Watch for Symptoms

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.

CDC: About monkeypox •Symptoms •How it spreads •Vaccines

Monkeypox is an infectious viral disease that can occur in humans and some other animals. Symptoms include fever, swollen lymph nodes, and a rash that forms blisters and then crusts over. The time from exposure to onset of symptoms ranges from five to twenty-one days. The duration of symptoms is typically two to four weeks. wikipedia.org

How is it spread?: Human-to-human transmission can occur through exposure to infected body fluids or contaminated objects, by small droplets, and possibly through the airborne route.

Symptoms: Fever, headache, muscle pains, shivering, blistering rash, swollen lymph nodes
Usual onset: 5–21 days post exposure
Duration: 2 to 4 weeks
Types: Central African (Congo Basin) clade, West African clade
Prevention: Smallpox vaccine, hand washing, covering rash, PPE, keeping away from sick people
Treatment: Supportive, antivirals, vaccinia immune globulin
Medication: Tecovirimat
